The York Service Center is located at 2139 White Street in West York and was dedicated October 26, 1996 as the administrative headquarters for the former York-Adams Area Council. It houses a portion of the council’s professional and administrative staff, as well as meeting facilities.
The York Scout Shop, which has recently been renovated and expanded (as of September 3, 2011), is now operated by the BSA’s Supply Group and carries the full line of BSA supply merchandise, uniforms, literature and recognitions. Catalog and custom-design orders are also available through the York Scout Shop.
The telephone number for the York Service Center is (717) 843-0901 or (800) 569-5197 toll-free outside of the York area. To fax materials to the York Service Center, the fax number is (717) 845-6338.
For a listing of direct-dial telephone numbers for all council employees, please use our staff directory.
For the York Scout Shop, the direct dial telephone number is (717) 885-9039 and the fax number is (717) 845-2048.
One change to note regarding the York Scout Shop, now that it is being operating by the BSA’s Supply Group and not the council, is that York Scout Shop employees are no longer able to handle transactions or accept paperwork on behalf of the council. There is a drop box available in the lobby of the Service Center where items for the council (event or camp payments, membership applications, etc.) can be left when the York Scout Shop is open, but the council itself is not.
