National BSA Websites

Scouting.org: This is the official National BSA website.  Source of lots of general info about the Scouting movement

myScouting: This national website is a portal into the electronic resources that are available for every Scouter.  Once you have a MyScouting account (all you need is an email addy and your membership #) you can submit electronic Tour Permits, submit Advancement updates, take training, update your unit’s BeAScout.org and access many more tools that can help your unit go…and grow.  There is even a brand new option that allows top Unit leaders to take a peak at the training records for their Unit.

beascout.org: Sign up your unit and put an information  ”pin” on a map that is part of a searchable National database of every Pack, Troop and Crew in the US.

Training: Official web portal of the National BSA Training site.  Don’t forget that every Adult Volunteer must have Youth Protection in order to re-charter in 2011.

National Eagle Scout Association: Information about the National Eagle Scout Association, including a section for NESA members.

Guide to Safe Scouting: It isn’t just a late night, coffee table read anymore.  This is a searchable on-line (and official) version that is extremely useful when planning your activities

On-line Learning Resources: This site provides a variety of materials, from quick references to complete courses, all designed to help our members improve leadership skills and deliver a quality program.

Scout Stuff: Operated by the National Supply Group, this site is your official on-line source for information about and acquisition of camping equipment, uniforms, handbooks, pinewood derby supplies, and other essential Scouting merchandise.

Hispanic Scouting Initiative (Vale la Pena): The official Spanish-Language Web site of the Boy Scouts of America

Good Turn for America: Today, America needs the service of its citizens more than ever. Hunger, lack of adequate shelter, poor health–these are issues that affect all of us. The Boy Scouts of America believes that we can do something about these issues–if we all work together.

BSA Fieldbook: Web site providing additional resources for activities covered in the BSA Fieldbook, including current books and online sources for techniques, gear, training opportunities, and destinations.

Northern Tier: The Northern Tier National High Adventure Base offers Scouts and Venturers the challenging adventures in wilderness canoeing and cold-weather camping.

Philmont: The BSA’s premier high-adventure base challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 200 square miles of rugged New Mexico wilderness. Backpacking treks, horseback cavalcades, and training and service programs offer young people many ways to experience this legendary location.

Sea Base: Located in the Florida Keys, the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base offers a variety of water activities from SCUBA diving to sailing “Tall Ships”

National Scouting Museum: Located in Irving, Texas, the National Scouting Museum is a tribute to the rich history of the Boy Scouts of America.

Order of the Arrow: Learn about Scouting’s National Honor Society, including its summer camp promotion program and other Scoutreach initiatives.

Scouting Resources: These are sites that are not official BSA websites, but they have lots of information that Volunteers find useful

MeritBadge.org: Excellent source of Advancement information for all types of units

US Scouting Service Project: Have question about Scouting, need a resource, looking for a skit?  This is the place to go, searchable database with just about every topic under the sun.

Scouting Clip Art: Ever wonder where people find all those neat Scouting related logos, fonts and backgrounds?  This is the place to go.

Patchtrade.com: Need I say more?

Adventure District Website: We can make a plug for our own District, right?

The Dave Hultberg Scout Page: Assistant District Commissioner, Dave Hultberg, has a great collection of pictures and information regarding all things Scouting.  Need a picture of a District Camporee from a few years back or a list of every Council (over 900 current and defunct) that has ever existed? Look no further than this site that Dave maintains.

Huskerpedia: Recommended by Mom as the best source of news and information about The Huskers

2009 Rendezvous at Shermans Creek Pictures: Great event at Hidden Valley, lots of great photos posted by a volunteer

King’s Gap: Located in scenic south-western Cumberland County.  An excellent State facility that offers educational outreach programs that many Packs, Troops and Crews will find useful in their program.  Get on their mailing list and you will always know what is going on.  Also home to several miles of hiking trails and a 4 mile road climb to the top where there is a mansion and a unique garden.

Wizard Safari: Takes place October 1 – 3, 2010 at the Wizard Ranch in York County.  Unique and large New Birth of Freedom Council, BSA event, you will find all the info you need at this link.
