Cub World Archery Range

Cub Archery 900x600Archery is a very popular program area for Cub and Webelos campers, especially since it’s an activity that’s typically not available to boys when they’re back home.  It’s a challenging skill for boys to learn, but with instruction from Tuckahoe’s range staff and with a little help from parents and leaders, it doesn’t take long until campers are frequently hitting the target with their arrows.

Archery for Cub Scouts is restricted to day camps, Cub Scout/Webelos Scout resident camps, council-managed family camping programs, or to council activities where there are properly trained supervisors and all standards for BSA shooting sports are enArchery_IMG_0101forced. Archery shooting is not to be done at the pack level.  However, leaders can help parents understand the importance of training and encourage attendance of boys at Cub Scout camps that offer this training.  Parents attending Tuckahoe with their sons are strongly encouraged to take a hands-on role in helping their sons get started in learning how to properly handle a bow and arrow.

Archery programs offered at Tuckahoe’s Cub World provides boys with outstanding opportunities to learn archery skills and earn the Archery belt loop and sports pin.
