2012 Klondike Derby

Date: February 17, 18, & 19, 2012

Location: Tuckahoe – Dillsburg, PA

Time: Registration Fri 5:00PM-7:30PM; Sat 7:30AM-8:30AM

Registration due to the council service center by January 20th.

It is time for the annual Klondike. The theme for this year’s klondike is “Mount Everest Challenge”. There will also be an opportunity for adults to take Youth Protection Training Saturday morning.  For more Klondike information and the registration form, click here.

2012 Mall Show

Date: February 4, 2012

Location: York Galleria Mall

Time: Registration Sat 8AM, Event Times 10 am – 4 pm

2011 Fall Camporee

Date: September 23, 24, & 25, 2011

Location: Wizard Ranch Hallam, PA

Time: Registration Fri 4:00PM-7PM; Sat 7:30AM-8AM

Boy Scout/Webelo/Venture Program: Sat 9AM-4PM

It is time for the FALL CAMPOREE ! The theme for this year’s camporee is “MISSION IMPOSSIBLE”.

Patrols/Dens/Crews should “Be Prepared” to rise to the challenges of the day’s activities. Your stealth skills and ingenuity will be utilized to the utmost but, be ready for the unknown.

A Friday Night Challenge for 14 years and older will test your older youth’s skills. They should bring long pants, long sleeve shirts, hiking boots or like (no open toed shoes), and working flashlight with fresh batteries.

Lunch for Saturday should be a bag lunch, to be taken on the trail. There will not be time to return to the camp site.

Camp fires and circles will be determined by the weather conditions at time of Camporee, so come prepared with alternate cooking methods and your “Leave No Trace Camping Skills”.

Units must register by Friday, August 26, 2011 to guarantee patches at Camporee. Also, unit camp site assignments will be determined by registration date, unit size, and to receive spirit points. To be registered early is to be on time. All information can be found on the registration packet.

Spring Camporee

Susquehannock State Park will be the location for the 2011 First Capital Spring Camporee happening Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1. Come and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the Susquehanna River while celebrating Native American Heritage. Registration forms will be available at roundtable and on the district website soon. Cost will be $5.00 per person.

Klondike Derby

The First Capital District is teaming up once again with Blue and Grey district to hold our annual Klondike Derby at Camp Tuckahoe February 18-20.   All Troops, Crews, and Webelo Dens are encouraged to come out and brave the cold to show off their Mountain Man Skills. To register please fill out and return the registration form to the council service center by January 13.   Unit sled plans can be found here.

Unit Recognition Dinner

The First Capital Unit Recognition Dinner will take place on Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 at 6pm at the Dover Community Center 3700 Davidsburg Rd in Dover. All unit members, leaders, parents, etc, are invited to attend, every unit will recieve a recognition for something great that they do. Cost is $10 per person until Friday, February 18, after that cost is $15 per person for late registrations. Click Here for Registration Form.

Life to Eagle Seminar

The First Capital district advancement committee will be presenting a Life to Eagle seminar on Monday, Jan 31st, 2011 in the Lodge at Gander Mountain on Loucks Rd in West York. Life to Eagle Seminars are a great way to prepare scouts and their parents for the challenging road that leads to the Eagle Scout Rank.
