About Frontier District ...
What is a Scouting District anyway?
It is a geographical area of the local BSA Council, in our case, The New Birth of Freedom Council. This boundary is determined by our council executive board. District leaders mobilize resources to ensure the growth and success of Scouting units within the district’s territory.
Frontier District serves youth in Big Spring, Chambersburg, Fannett-Metal, Shippensburg school districts as well as Tuscarora in the St. Thomas area. We support 800 scouts and 650 adult volunteers as they deliver life changing fun experiences to the youth of these areas.
When do we meet?
Our District Committee meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of most months at King Street Church Community Center at 7:00pm.
Our monthly Roundtable is held Sep- May on the 2nd Thursday at King Street Church beginning at 7:00 PM. The August Roundtable is held at Letterkenny Recreation Area.
Our Comissioner staff meets the 3rd Thursday of each month.
Who Are We?
We are members of our community who want to fulfill the mission of the Boy Scouts of America by preparing young people to make ethical and moral decisions over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
