Edward G. Gebhart

gebhart Edward G. Gebhart has accomplished a great deal in his more than four decades of service to Scouting.   He currently serves as a unit commissioner in Pioneer District, a role he has held since 1991.

Ed’s Scouting tenure also includes roles as a chartered organization representative, unit committee chair, district committee member and a merit badge counselor. Ed has also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster in two different troops for a total of 14 years and as Scoutmaster of three different troops for 15 years. He has also staffed numerous district camporees and he served on the National Jamboree staff in 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2010.

In his work life, Ed has continued his record of community service by working as a paid and volunteer firefighter in Harrisburg, Hampden Township and Carlisle. He has also worked as an emergency medical technician and other roles, including chief, for Silver Spring Ambulance Company #71 and Keystone Medical Response Ambulance #77.

A member of the Order of the Arrow, Ed has also been recognized with the Scouter’s Key and Scouter’s Training Award, along with the District Award of Merit in 1984.
