Kenneth C. Krause became a Cub Scout in Pack 67 back in 1974 and he has garnered a wealth of Scouting accomplishments ever since. Ken earned the Arrow of Light and joined Troop 148 at Bethany United Methodist Church, where he went on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout in 1984.
Ken then accepted the position of Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 148, a position he held for the next 13 years before stepping up to become the Troop’s Scoutmaster in 1998. He served in that role until 2006, when he joined Troop 54 as an active member of the troop committee.
A recipient of the District Award of Merit in 2008, Ken is also a member of the Order of the Arrow and has also been recognized with the God and Country and Scouter’s Training Award. He is also a member of the Susquehanna Trail District’s activities committee where he is an active member helping plan, recruit staff and acquire program materials for district camporees.
Ken has served on staff for the past three Wizard Safaris and the past two Sherman’s Creek Rendezvous. He has also helped establish geocaching courses at Tuckahoe, Hidden Valley and Wizard Ranch where our Scouts can learn and enjoy map and compass skills. He is a prolific merit badge counselor for multiple badges and has helped hundreds of Scouts from many different troops.
Outside of Scouting, this individual is a member of the York County Soap Box Derby Association and he is an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church Powerhouse Youth Center.
