Climbing Instructor Course

The New Birth of Freedom Council will be offering Climbing/COPE  Instructor training courses over two weekends (May 11-13 and June 8-10) at Camp Tuckahoe for volunteers, particularly for those individuals who have an interest in staffing council-level climbing events.  Class size is limited to 12 participants both weekends.

COPE & Climbing Foundations will be offered May 11-13 at Tuckahoe and will train participants to assist in leading climbing tower activities at both Hidden Valley and Tuckahoe or other artificial surfaces.  It is intended that participants who successfully complete this class will receive Climbing Level 1 certification.

Climbing – Natural Site will be held June 8-10 and will be based out of Tuckahoe, with travel to an off-site location during the day on Saturday.  In order to take Climbing – Natural Site, participants must successfully complete the COPE & Climbing Foundations course or have a current (within six months) COPE or Climbing L1 certificate.  It is intended that participant who successfully complete this class will receive Climbing Level 2 certification.

The cost for each weekend course is $50 (total of $100 for both weekends).  All registration fees paid are non-refundable.
