We are excited to welcome our first all-girl Scouts BSA troops in 2019. We have prepared the following resources to help simplify the process for getting a Scouts BSA troop started in your area. The guidelines below are a great resource for both all-girl and all-boy Scouts BSA troops.

What is Scouts BSA?
For the first time in its 100+ year history, the iconic program of the Boy Scouts of America will be open to young women.
Scouts BSA is a year-round program for boys and girls in fifth grade through high school that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves.
In Scouts BSA, young men and women go places, test themselves, and have one-of-a-kind adventures that can’t be found anywhere else.

Earning the Eagle Scout Rank – Boys and girls who join Scouting for the first time and are older than 16 but not yet 18 by February 1, 2019 can request an extension to complete the rank of Eagle Scout. Details of the extension are available in this FAQ.
The Order of the Arrow and Scouts BSA – Starting February 1, 2019, female youth will be eligible to be inducted into Scouting’s Honor Society the Order of the Arrow.
Budget Planning and Finances for a New Troop – Finances are an important part of any unit. In order to do everything that the unit wants to be able to do, the unit needs to raise funds and to manage them. Having a unit budget helps the unit achieve its program goals and having good financial controls keeps the unit sound.
