Northeast Region William T. Hornaday Adviser Training Course

The National Hornaday Awards Committee and the Northeast Region, BSA will be offering a William T. Hornaday Adviser Training Course. This course is intended for Scouters who are interested in working with Scouting youth in conservation, Council Conservation Committee Members, and those interested in serving as Hornaday Advisers within their local Scout Council.

Where: Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation, 402 Blue Mountain Road, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972
Cost: $80 per person which includes room and board, and training materials.
This 16-hour course, instructed by members of the national committee, will help volunteer leaders support their councils and build capacity to tackle conservation work, establish new partnerships within the community and implement effective council conservation and Hornaday Award committees. The William T. Hornaday awards are extensively covered, as well as opportunities for participants to support Scouting youth through the role of the William T. Hornaday conservation adviser.
The course will begin at 7 pm on Friday evening, March 20th and conclude by 11 am on Sunday, March 22. Meals and lodging will be provided beginning with a crackerbarrel on Friday evening, through Sunday breakfast. Lodging will consist of indoor housing and bunks. Linens and blankets are not provided. Attire for the course will be the BSA Field Uniform. Participants should be prepared for classroom and field instruction.
