In the Shadows of 1864 Camporee – POSTPONED

“In the Shadows of 1864 Camporee” – POSTPONED

Given the current and on-going uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and how social distancing and group meeting limitations will effect the delivery of our program, we will be postponing this camporee indefinitely. The camporee will still be held in the future, on a date not yet determined. We have put a lot of work into organizing this camporee and do not want to throw it away and take that experience back from the scouts. However, our committee does not feel comfortable postponing to the Spring of 2021 because of uncertainties involving COVID-19, and the Fall of 2021 will be our council-wide Rendezvous at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation. This camporee most likely won’t happen until 2022 at the earliest.

The Battlefield and Heritage Trails districts will still host a Fall Camporee over the weekend of September 25-27, 2020, at Camp Tuckahoe for our Scouts BSA Troops. The theme of this camporee will be “Surviving On Your Own” and will feature a one-night wilderness survival challenge after a day of training. We will post a leader’s guide as soon as one is available.

We will begin processing refunds for groups that had registered through Tentaroo. As part of our council policy, if you are registered for an event that is postponed, your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date. However, given that we don’t have a new date specified, we will be refunding registration fees to the unit accounts. Rifles will not be refunded because by now all units have received their rifles. If you need to request a refund check back to your unit, please contact Christopher Lontz (

Thank you very much for your understanding. We look forward to still putting on a spectacular program for you in the future!
