Camp Tuckahoe Ranger Scott Holbrook to Retire

With mixed emotions, I wanted to pass along the news to our New Birth of Freedom Council family that Scott Holbrook will be retiring as the ranger at Camp Tuckahoe on January 31, 2022.  Scott has served as the ranger at Tuckahoe since August 1999, and his skills, work ethic, and love of Scouting will be sorely missed, not just at Tuckahoe but throughout our Council.  Scott’s interests and involvement at Tuckahoe extended well beyond simply maintaining the camp.

In recognition of Scott’s many years of service to Tuckahoe and the Council, we are organizing a retirement party for Scott at Tuckahoe on Sunday, October 17, from 2-4 PM in the Boy Scout Pavilion (just behind the historic Dining Hall).  The cost is $10 per guest to cover food expenses for the event.  You can register online at https://forms.tentaroo.com/view.php?id=7750957.  The deadline to sign up is Monday, October 11.

I hope that many of Scott’s Scouting friends will join us that day to thank Scott for his many years of service and congratulate him on this exciting new chapter of his life.  Scott, his wife Jenn, and three children (Jade, Jaycee, and Jaxson) will be moving to their retirement home in the New Oxford area, and I’m sure we’ll continue to see the Holbrooks at many Scouting activities in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Ronald M. Gardner, Jr.
Scout Executive & CEO
