Whether you are a Pack, Troop, Crew, or Ship here are 5 great ideas of what you can do now to help recruit new Scouts into your program!
Option 1: If you HAVEN’T held your unit’s recruitment night(s) yet:
- Activate your parents! Energetic, engaged parents will be a big boost to your recruitment efforts.
- Reach out to your neighborhood school. Do whatever you can to make helping them easier.
- Update your pin at www.BeAScout.org.
- Friendstorming. Make a list of families to personally invite to join Scouting. See our instructions and resources here.
- Use Social Media. Geofencing. Post Invitations. Share parent testimonials.
Option 2: If you have already held your unit recruitment night(s):
- Activate your parents! Get them involved in the program, assign single jobs, not positions.
- Check your leads and online applications. Don’t neglect those who may have joined later.
- Conduct your Bobcat (Cub Scouts) and Scout (Scouts BSA) programs. Award your Scouts right away! This gives them a sense of belonging
