Scoutreach Administrator – Full-time

Position Overview: The New Birth of Freedom Council is committed to providing Scouting programs to youth in EVERY community in south-central Pennsylvania and has developed a Scoutreach Program to bring Scouting to our underserved markets in the cities of York and Harrisburg as well as the Steelton-Highspire community.  The Scoutreach Administrator is responsible for leading a staff of program specialists in delivering programs to youth that need the Scouting program the most.  The Scoutreach Administrator is a full-time position and is responsible for overseeing the creation of the program curriculum and expanding the program to new schools and partners.

Exploring/STEM Scouts Program Lead – Full-time

Position Overview: Exploring is the career-education program of the Boy Scouts of America, providing real-life career experiences and leadership opportunities for young men and women from 6th grade through age 20.  STEM Scouts is a program of the Boy Scouts of America, aiming to deliver Scouting through lab experiences based in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.  The New Birth of Freedom Council is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual to lead our efforts in serving our Scouts in these programs and expanding these initiatives to new Scouts and communities.  The Exploring/STEM Scouts Program Lead is a full-time position.

Scoutreach Program Specialist – Part-time

Position Overview: The Scoutreach Program Specialist will serve as a key leader for after-school Scouting programs in York City. The primary job is to deliver Scouting programs in assigned schools or facilities. The position is accountable for the recruitment, retention, training, and motivation of all youth members in an assigned group.

The Scoutreach Program Specialist must be at least 18 years of age and be willing to work 8 to 10 hours a week. There are additional stipends for participation in overnight and/or weeklong camping programs. The program runs in conjunction with the school year with summer programming options.
