Dianne Theal – 2022 Silver Beaver Award Recipient

As a Scouting volunteer, Dianne Theal is always willing to step in wherever her leadership is needed.

A recipient of the District Award of Merit in 2014, Dianne has a long track record of service to Scouting at the unit, district and council levels.  Dianne became Tiger Den Leader for Pack 555 in 2001 and also served as the pack’s Cubmaster for two years.  She has also served as Committee Member for Troop 36 since 2008.

Dianne has held many leadership roles in Keystone Capital District, to include Advancement Chair, Scouting for Food Chair, Camp Card Chair, Popcorn Chair, District Member-At-Large and the District Camporee Committee.  As Keystone Capital District chair for these efforts, Dianne was also a member of the Council’s Advancement, Scouting for Food, Camp Card, and Popcorn committees.  One of Dianne’s Scouting friends commented “(Dianne) is a great volunteer who has shared her leadership skills whenever needed and has often been wearing 4 volunteer hats at once.”

Dianne is also a recipient of the District Committee Key Award and the District Committee Scouter Training Award.

Outside of Scouting, Dianne has volunteered at St. Francis Food Pantry and she has also served as a court-appointed special advocate for foster children, helping them navigate the court system, obtain additional services and find a secure permanent home.  Dianne is also involved with the League of Women Voters, serving on several committees for that organization.  She is also a member of the Capital Region Ex-Offenders Support Coalition (CRESC).

The New Birth of Freedom Council is pleased to present the Silver Beaver Award to Dianne L. Theal.
