Popcorn and Nuts Available to Sell!!
Hello NBOF Scouters,
Thanks to everyone who participated in our 2016 Popcorn and Nuts Sale. We were excited to have Whitley’s Peanuts as a partner this past year and I’m pleased to report that our sale grew by almost $50,000 over the previous sale!
As we roll out of the holidays, we wanted to make you aware of an early 2017 fundraising opportunity. There are some leftover popcorn and peanut items from 2016 Popcorn and Nuts Sale and your unit is still able to sell these items. Please see below for the quantitees of each.
Perhaps you have a Scout who needs to earn money toward National Jamboree, or you might just need to replace some aging equipment. Either way, we have an easy and low-risk solution for you to generate the additional program resources that you need.
Just let us know how many cases of each product you would like to sell and we’ll give it to your unit at the Mechanicburg Service Center on consignment. You can return any product that you don’t sell back to us. Your unit will receive a flat 50% commission on all sales! That’s right, the best commission available! Show and Sell (in front of a store or other high traffic area) and Show and Deliver (taking product door to door) are great options for selling this product. We cannot order additional product, and this is a first-come, first-served opportunity. Perhaps some of your unit leaders or parents just want to stock up at a great price!
Please contact Holly Schwalm (717-620-4526) at the Mechanicsburg Service Center to make arrangements or if you are interested in purchasing these items individually at our clearance prices. Thank you for your consideration. Selling this product will help the New Birth of Freedom Council to deplete its remaining inventory and help your unit fund its Scouting adventures!

Scout receives iPad for being Top Online Seller
On January 30th, Council Popcorn & Nuts Chairman Bruce Apgar paid a surprise visit to the monthly pack meeting for Cub Scout Pack 56 in Marysville. Bruce was excited to congratulate Pack 56 for their amazing turnaround performance in the 2016 sale where hey sold over 10 times as much product as in 2015.
However, the highlight of the presentation was when Bruce was able to call forward Wolf Scout Matthew Z. Matthew was the highest online salesman of popcorn products from among all Scouts in New Birth of Freedom Council, achieving $1,190 in online sales! When asked what the best part of the sale was, Matthew responded, “the best part was all the responsibility…and going to all the events with my dad!” Matthew received a 32GB iPad Pro in recognition of his accomplishment! Well done Matthew and congratulations to Pack 56!
