Marc Lee – 2023 Silver Beaver Award Recipient

 

Whether he’s at work as a registered nurse at Wellspan Chambersburg Hospital or one of his many volunteer Scouting roles, Marc Lee is always looking to help others.

In his Scouting career, Marc has worn many different hats. From 2004 to 2007, he served as a Pack Trainer for Pack 251, chartered to the Shippensburg Lions Club. He also served as an Assistant Webelos Leader for Pack 251 in 2008.

In 2009, he became a Committee Member in Pack 121, chartered to Messiah United Methodist Church in Shippensburg. In 2010, he became Pack Trainer for Pack 121 and served in that role until 2014. Marc also served as a Committee Member and Committee Chair for Troop 121 from 2008 to 2016.

Marc was also involved at the District level, serving as the District’s Pinewood Derby Chair for 10 years. He also served as a merit badge counselor, and as a member of the District’s Training Committee before being elected as Conococheague District Chair and a member of the Council’s Executive Board in 2015 and he continues to serve in those roles today.

A recipient of the District Award of Merit in 2012, Marc also served as an Associate Advisor for Venturing Crew 1776, chartered to Middle Spring Presbyterian Church in Shippensburg from 2012 to 2018.

Marc has also volunteered as a member of the medical staff at several Wizard Safari and Rendezvous events, and has served on staff for multiple Cub Scout Day Camps and Cub Scout Adventure Camps.

Marc also enjoys helping with Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) and Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) courses not only when his District was called upon to lead the courses, but when other districts needed help.
