Camp Tuckahoe serves as the epicenter for our council’s dynamic summer camp programs, while all three camps are open year-round, providing an array of exciting camping opportunities and top-notch facilities. Whether you’re part of Scouts BSA or Cub Scouts, you’ll find incredible experiences awaiting you at these camps.

Our 2025 Summer Camp Programs
Experience the ultimate adventure at Camp Tuckahoe’s Scouts BSA summer camp! We want to make your troop’s week at Tuckahoe the highlight of your Scouting year—where excitement, skill-building, and time spent with friends come together. From new Scouts to veterans, everyone will find something to enjoy.
In 2025, we’re offering over 40 merit badges, including enhanced sessions in Metalworking, Space Exploration, Astronomy, and Canoeing.
For thrill-seekers, conquer our 38-foot climbing wall or soar over Memory Lake on our 700-foot zipline. Camp Tuckahoe is where unforgettable memories are made!
The Webelos/AOL Camp is a five-day, four-night experience that lets Scouts tailor their journey by selecting advancement tracks and engaging in activities that ignite their passions.
With the “Build Your Adventure” approach, Scouts choose from a diverse range of options, such as fishing, climbing, and the Arrow of Light Outpost. They’ll participate in eight programs and earn at least six adventure loops.
The 2025 Tuckahoe Space Academy theme adds a thrilling, space-themed twist to traditional camp fun, making this an inspiring and unforgettable experience.
Discover Cub Scout Camp, a three-day, two-night adventure designed for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Scouts where they can chart their own course. For 2025, we’ve expanded activity blocks, offering more time for exploration, learning, and unforgettable memories.
Our “Build Your Adventure” program lets Scouts choose from a wide array of activities, including fishing, hiking, and space-themed fun at the Tuckahoe Space Academy. By camp’s end, they’ll have tackled eight activities, earned most likely six adventure loops, and enjoyed an out-of-this-world experience!
Camp Tuckahoe’s Pack Camp offers a flexible experience for Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light Scouts. Wolf and Bear Scouts enjoy a three-day, two-night adventure, while Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts can extend their stay to five days, four nights.
With the “Build Your Adventure” program, Scouts choose from a variety of activities and earn at least six adventure loops across eight programs. The first three days focus on general programs, with specialty activities and the exclusive Arrow of Light Outpost available in the final two days.
The Tuckahoe Space Academy theme adds a thrilling, space-themed twist to traditional camp fun.
Celebrate the 4th of July at Camp Tuckahoe’s Family Camp, a relaxed and fun-filled weekend designed for all Scouting families.
From Thursday evening to Saturday morning, everything is provided, including meals and a variety of activities like fishing, hiking, swimming, and more. Families can unwind, connect, and explore at their own pace, making lasting memories away from everyday life. Friday’s Holiday Bash adds to the excitement with field games, a BBQ, and swimming, creating a festive atmosphere.
While advancement isn’t the focus, the emphasis on fun and family bonding makes this camp the perfect holiday escape.
Camperships Are Available
The New Birth of Freedom Council is committed to ensuring every Scout can experience summer camp.
The Campership Fund provides financial assistance to New Birth of Freedom Council Scouts attending in-council summer camp programs who otherwise could not attend. All application information is kept strictly confidential and shared only on a need-to-know basis.
"Shadows of 1864" Camporee
The New Birth of Freedom Council is excited to announce our 2025 council-wide camping event—a Civil War-themed camporee just a quarter mile from the Gettysburg battlefield.
This theme was previously used in the 2022 fall camporee by the Battlefield and Heritage Trails Districts, which drew about 900 participants and was featured in Scout Life magazine. Save the dates: September 26-28, 2025, for this incredible program.
