Serving six counties in south-central Pennsylvania
The New Birth of Freedom Council serves young people in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry, and York counties. Our Council is headquartered in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania.
Our Council was formed on April 1, 2010, through the merger of the Keystone Area and York-Adams Area Councils.
Our Name
Our name comes from Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and his hope for “a new birth of freedom.” It reflects our region’s place in American history—from the adoption of the Articles of Confederation in York to the Battle of Gettysburg.
