For 100 years, Camp Hidden Valley has been a place where young people have learned leadership, developed outdoor skills, built lifelong friendships, and created memories that last a lifetime. In May 2027, Scouts and Scouters from across the New Birth of Freedom Council will gather to celebrate that remarkable milestone at the Hidden Valley Centennial Camporee.

Established in 1927 near Loysville, Hidden Valley has served generations of Scouts from throughout central Pennsylvania and beyond. Thousands of young people have experienced their first campfire, earned merit badges, learned outdoor skills, and developed confidence and leadership on its 1,200-acre reservation.

The Centennial Camporee is shaping up to be our largest council-wide Scouting event since the highly successful Shadows of 1864 Camporee. Every pack, troop, crew, and ship is encouraged to make plans now to participate in this once-in-a-generation celebration of Scouting history, outdoor adventure, and fellowship.

Scheduled for May 21–23, 2027, the Centennial Camporee will bring together Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, leaders, alumni, and supporters for a weekend unlike any other in the camp’s history.

A Celebration of a Century of Scouting

The Centennial Camporee will honor Hidden Valley’s rich history while celebrating the people, traditions, and outdoor experiences that continue to make the camp a special place for Scouts and Scouters.

Who Can Attend?

The Centennial Camporee is open to Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Sea Scout Ships. Both weekend and day participation options will be available, allowing units and families to choose the experience that best fits their schedule.

Cabin Lottery Opportunity

Units that camp at Hidden Valley between September 2026 and April 2027 and complete a service project at camp will be eligible for a special cabin lottery.

Registration Information

Registration will open on October 1, 2026.

Because attendance is expected to be high, full payment will be required at the time of registration for all reserved participant slots. Attendance will be capped at approximately 1,700 participants, and registration will close once capacity is reached.

Centennial Season Patch

To commemorate Hidden Valley’s 100th anniversary, a special Centennial Season patch will be available to Scouts and leaders who attend a weekend camping event at Hidden Valley between September 2026 and May 2027.
