Join us for the Outdoor Academy on the weekend of April 10-12, 2026, at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation in Loysville, Pennsylvania. Hosted by the New Birth of Freedom Council, it is open to all Scouters, Venturers, and older Scouts. This is a training event unlike others you have experienced. It is a weekend chock full of outdoor related training, networking and fun. We will offer almost a dozen classes that can check off your training “to-do” list.
Classes offered are:
• CPR/AED/Basic First Aid
• Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills
• Wilderness and Remote First Aid
• Angling Educator
• Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
• Certified Angling Instructor
• Rangemaster
• Paddle Craft Safety
We encourage you to come out for a training you need and stay for another one that will help you deliver a great program to our youth.
The basic cost for the weekend is $18 which includes meals and a place to pitch a tent. Each class has a nominal fee to cover the costs associated.
Class sizes are limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Register early for the best choices for courses, and don’t miss out on being part of this event.
