Understanding the District Award of Merit & Silver Beaver Award: A Guide to Recognizing Exceptional Service

 

The District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver Award recognizes exceptional contributions by Scouting volunteers.

District Award of Merit

  • Purpose: Honors registered adult volunteers for outstanding service at the district level.
  • Eligibility: Current volunteers who have not received this award before.
  • Presentation: Awarded by districts.

Silver Beaver Award

  • Purpose: Recognizes registered adult leaders who have made significant impacts on youth and the community.
  • Eligibility: Leaders with long-term commitment and exemplary service.
  • Significance: Acknowledges dedication to Scouting and community service.

Nomination Details

Nominations for both awards are due by February 1, 2025.
