Scouts BSA Summer Camp

Join the Adventure at Camp Tuckahoe

Scouts BSA summer camp at Camp Tuckahoe is the pinnacle of an exciting Scouting year, offering an unforgettable outdoor experience. Scouts of all levels, from the newest Tenderfoot to seasoned veterans, immerse themselves in skill-building, friendship, and pure adventure—truly putting the “outing” in Scouting.

At Tuckahoe, Scouts enjoy a dynamic and traditional summer camp program enhanced by top-tier facilities, including a climbing wall, a pristine swimming pool, and an air-conditioned dining hall that comfortably seats over 500 campers. The combination of facilities and an enthusiastic, carefully selected camp staff ensures an unparalleled summer camp experience for all Scouts BSA troops.

Every summer, Tuckahoe draws numerous Scouts BSA troops from outside the New Birth of Freedom Council, seeking a unique and memorable camp for their Scouts. Best of all, Camp Tuckahoe welcomes out-of-council troops with no extra fees, making it an even more attractive destination.

Program Highlights

Merit Badges Offerings

In 2025, Tuckahoe will offer more than 40 merit badges, with enhanced sessions for Metalworking, Space Exploration, Astronomy, and Canoeing.

Climbing and Zipline

For the adventurous, Scouts can conquer our 38-foot climbing tower or soar across Memory Lake on a 700-foot zipline.

Buffalo Braves Program

The Buffalo Braves program targets first- and second-year campers, covering many Tenderfoot to First Class requirements. Scouts attend sessions in the morning and afternoon, with a special Swimming merit badge class before lunch. They’ll learn essential skills like knots, lashings, outdoor cooking, woodsman tools, campsite gadgets, first aid, and compass use. Scouts must demonstrate mastered skills to troop leaders for sign-off. On Thursday night, Scouts will participate in an outpost, where each pair needs a lightweight two-man tent or tarp along with their gear.

Older Scout Program

Older Scouts seeking more challenges at Tuckahoe can choose between the Advanced Camper Experience or the new 2025 Mountain Adventure.

The Advanced Camper Experience, designed for Scouts 14+, runs midday. It allows participation in merit badges while adding extra value to summer camp. Scouts will customize their week with unique activities led by our skilled staff, offering adventures beyond merit badges
