Special Summer Camp Awards

Honor Camper Award

The Honor Camper Award recognizes Scouts who excel beyond standard expectations and serve as exemplary role models during camp. Leaders are encouraged to nominate Scouts who demonstrate outstanding behavior. From these nominations, camp staff will select one or more Scouts as “Honor Campers” of the week. Recipients will be acknowledged during the Friday Flag-Lowering ceremony.

Hillcourt Award

The Hillcourt Award honors camp leaders in the spirit of William “Green Bar Bill” Hillcourt, a legendary figure in Scouting. Known for his significant contributions to the Boy Scouts of America, including authoring essential manuals and columns, Hillcourt earned the informal title “Scoutmaster to the World.” This award celebrates leaders who exemplify his dedication.

Baden-Powell Honor Troop Award

The Baden-Powell Honor Troop Award is presented to units surpassing normal camp activities expectations. While any troop can earn this recognition, it requires significant effort. Meeting the award criteria ensures a robust and enriching camp experience for the troop. All requirements must be completed by the Scouts themselves.
