Summer camp season doesn’t just happen: it takes all of us. Each spring, Scouts, families, and volunteers roll up their sleeves for Beaver Day, our annual day of service dedicated to preparing camp for the months ahead.
No matter how you’re connected to Scouting – pack, troop, crew, ship, or as an individual volunteer – you’re invited to be part of the effort.
When and Where
We have two chances to get involved this year:
Hidden Valley Scout Reservation: Spend the day helping us prepare the property for a busy summer of reservations on Saturday, May 2, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Camp Tuckahoe: This year brings something special. Our summer camp staff arrives the day before, meaning they’ll be on-site during Beaver Day. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside the team, meet the staff ahead of camp, and see the people who will be delivering programs all summer long. Join us on Saturday, June 13, from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
How You Can Help?
There’s no shortage of ways to pitch in. Projects range from painting and cleaning to trail upkeep and general repairs — with options suited for all ages and experience levels. If you have a background in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or another skilled trade, let us know when you register so we can put your talents to good use.
What You'll Walk Away With
All participants will receive:
- Lunch during the event
- A special Beaver Day patch
- The pride that comes from knowing you’ve helped create a great camp experience for hundreds of Scouts
Join the Effort
Registration is simple — sign up for one event or attend both. Bring your unit, gather your family, or come solo. However you participate, your time and effort will make a lasting impact.
