Grab your gear and join us for Family Fishing Day at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation! This event offers hands-on fishing experiences for both Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA, with programs designed for all skill levels.
Cub Scout Program
Cub Scouts will learn the fundamentals of fishing in a fun and safe environment. Instructional stations will guide participants through:
Proper use of fishing equipment
How to rig tackle, bait, and lures
Basic fishing safety and regulations
The importance of conservation and stewardship
These stations also provide activities that help Cub Scouts complete their Fishing Adventures.
Scouts BSA Program
Scouts BSA will have opportunities to work on requirements for the:
Fishing Merit Badge
Fly Fishing Merit Badge
Fish and Wildlife Management Merit Badge
Scouts new to fishing are encouraged to attend the instructional stations in the morning. In the afternoon, merit badge counselors will be available to assist with requirements and sign off on blue cards.
Scouts can also work toward the Complete Angler Award by helping teach fishing basics to Cub Scouts or inexperienced anglers. This service may count toward a conservation-related service project.
