Join Us for Program Launch on June 5 at Camp Tuckahoe

The 2025-26 Scouting year in the New Birth of Freedom Council is shaping up to be an exciting one.  We’re looking forward to debuting our new council service center and Scout Shop at Camp Tuckahoe, as well as our “Shadows of 1864” council-wide camporee in September, which is generating a lot of excitement.  The Scouting program, and especially our Scouting volunteers, are resilient, and Scouting’s best days are yet to come.

To help your unit prepare for a great year, we invite you to attend the 2025 Program Launch at Camp Tuckahoe on June 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:45 pm.

Program Launch is open to adult volunteers and parents and will feature information sessions, exhibits from council committees, and vendor displays.  All participants can enjoy a complimentary dinner for up to four people from each unit.

The General Session will provide an update on the progress of our council’s plans to regain financial stability following the BSA’s bankruptcy, an overview of capital improvements at Hidden Valley and Tuckahoe, and other information aimed at growing our youth membership and helping units succeed.

Our three break-out sessions provide several options:

  • Summer Camp’s Impact on the Scouting Journey – Scouting’s outdoor programs are the primary reason many families enroll their children in our programs.  Learn more about our council’s summer camp offerings, why summer camp is so essential to retaining youth in Scouting, and how best to plan and organize your unit for summer camp.  Separate sessions will be offered for Scouts BSA troops and Cub Scout packs.
  • Unlock the Power of Every Resource – There are numerous resources available, both from National and our council, to help leaders deliver exceptional programs.  This session will help identify those resources and how to use them.
  • First-Time Popcorn and Nuts Sale Kernel Orientation –  if you’re serving as your unit’s popcorn and nuts sale kernel this fall and you’re new to the role, this session is for you.

Pre-registration is required, and the sign-up deadline is May 30, 2025, at 5 PM.
