A century of campfires, friendships, and Scouting memories deserves a celebration. Join Scouts and Scouters from across the New Birth of Freedom Council and beyond for the Hidden Valley Centennial Camporee.
Registration Opens October 1, 2026
Space is limited to approximately 1,700 participants. Registration will close when capacity is reached, even if that is before the published deadlines.
Full, non-refundable payment for every reserved spot is due at registration. Confirm your attendance numbers and collect payment in advance so your unit is ready to register.
Plan Your Visit
Cub Scout packs, Scouts BSA troops, Venturing crews, and Sea Scout ships are invited. Choose weekend camping or day participation to fit your group’s schedule.

A Weekend of Adventure and Celebration
Explore camp traditions, test your skills, and help create new memories during Hidden Valley’s centennial year. Planned activities include:
- Outdoor challenges: archery, rifle shooting, Scout skills competitions, and the Iron Scout competition.
- Centennial experiences: historical tours, branding activities, and the centennial rock garden project.
- More camp fun: crafts, root beer, Bounce Horses, and additional family-friendly attractions.
We will announce additional program details as the event approaches.
Camp, Serve, and Enter the Cabin Lottery
Units that camp at Hidden Valley between September 2026 and April 2027 and complete a service project at camp will be eligible for a special cabin lottery.
Lottery locations include Rotary, AMP, Herbert, Ritter, Western Perry, K-1/K-2, and Stockade. Units selected through the lottery will pay no additional site fee.
Help Make the Centennial Happen
Join the staff team and support program areas, kitchen operations, facilities, or check-in and administration.
The $30 staff fee includes an event shirt, commemorative patch, and meals throughout the weekend. Staff registration is open now.
Earn a Centennial Season Patch
A special Centennial Season patch will be available to Scouts and leaders who attend a weekend camping event at Hidden Valley between September 2026 and May 2027. We will announce more information about the patch and qualifying events.
Design a Centennial Council Shoulder Patch
Help create a keepsake for Hidden Valley’s 100th anniversary. Enter the design contest for our special council shoulder patches (CSPs).

Key Dates
- August 2026: staff registration opens.

- December 2026: the Leaders Guide is scheduled for release.
- Winter 2027: Centennial council shoulder patches (CSPs) become available.

- May 21–23, 2027: Hidden Valley Centennial Camporee.
A Century of Scouting at Hidden Valley
Established in 1927 near Loysville, Camp Hidden Valley has welcomed generations of Scouts from central Pennsylvania and beyond. On its 1,200 acres, young people have learned outdoor skills, developed leadership, and built lifelong friendships.
The Centennial Camporee is shaping up to be our largest council-wide Scouting event since the Shadows of 1864 Camporee. Whether Hidden Valley is a longtime tradition for your unit or a new adventure, make plans to be part of its next chapter.
