The Philmont Trek is the pinnacle of the Scouting outdoor experience.
In addition to providing an unforgettable adventure in backpacking across miles of rugged, rocky trails, Philmont Scout Ranch offers programs that feature the best of the Old West—horseback riding, burro packing, gold panning, chuckwagon dinners, and interpretive history—with exciting challenges for today such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and sport shooting. It’s an unbeatable recipe for fast-paced fun in the outdoors.
Book your Philmont adventure through the New Birth of Freedom Council, and let us handle your travel arrangements and logistics. That way, you and your Scouts can focus on adventure-specific preparation! Any registered Scout aged 14+ at the time of the Trek can register — on their own or with their unit and unit leaders!
Crew Itinerary
Our 2027 Council-led contingent will embark on a 12-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch, departing on June 12, 2027, and returning on June 26, 2027. This itinerary includes two travel and adventure days at the beginning and a travel day at the end.
*Please note that depending on airline schedules, availability and fares, the contingent schedule could change slightly.

The estimated cost is $3,500.00 per individual. This includes all round-trip transportation, Philmont’s fees, and touring activities. Fees may change due to the cost of airfare or lack of participation.
Participants should plan to budget additional money to upgrade personal camping equipment and souvenirs. Other possible costs include extra crew t-shirts and food for crew conditioning hikes.
