38th annual York Distinguished Citizen
The 37th annual York Distinguished Citizen Celebration will honor Timothy R. Tate, P.E., President and CEO of Stewart & Tate, for his outstanding leadership and service to the community and for exemplifying the values of Scouting America.
This year’s Celebration Chair is Christina McCullough, Director of Business Development of Stewart & Tate. The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at York College Campus’s Wilman Business Center Yorkview Hall. Recent honorees include Eric Menzer, Michael Kochenour, Jules Tolbert, Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith, Carl Vizzi, Steve Tansey, Patrick Kinsley, Todd Rutter, Jeffrey Lobach, Jeffrey Hines, Bill Scott, and William Shipley. The event also served as a significant fundraiser for the New Birth of Freedom Council, raising funds to support local Scouting programs delivered to more than 5,500 youth members.
Scouting America is one of the largest scouting organizations and youth organizations in the United States, with about 762,000 youth participants. The BSA was founded in 1910; about 110 million Americans have participated in its programs. In 1922, Scouting America became a founding member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Scouting America prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
