Service Centers Resuming Regular Hours Starting Monday, March 1

Starting on Monday, March 1, the Mechanicsburg and York Service Centers will be returning to our regular 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM operating hours.  We will continue to have a minimal number of staff members working each day in our Service Centers, with most of our staff working each day remotely.  All of our staff can be reached by email or phone from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily.  Please refer to our staff directory for phone numbers and email addresses.

All COVID-19 protocols implemented in our Service Centers will continue, and all visitors to the Service Centers and Scout Shops are required to wear face coverings.

The Mechanicsburg and York Scout Shop operating hours are unaffected and will continue to follow their regular business hours.

If you need to drop off materials outside of our operating hours, there are several options:

  • If the Scout Shops are open, you may leave your items with the Scout Shops.  The Scout Shops will give your materials to the Council staff the next business day.  Please keep in mind that Scout Shop employees cannot answer questions or provide additional assistance beyond accepting your materials.
  • In the York Service Center, there is a small dropbox in the lobby.  There is a dropbox outside the building’s front doors (the doors closest to the Scout Shop entrance) at the Mechanicsburg Service Center.
  • Council staff members will send out email receipts for any items dropped off.  Please include your name and email address with those materials to assist our staff in receipting your items if you are dropping off materials.

As more and more people receive the COVID-19 vaccine, we get a little bit closer to the end of this pandemic and a return to “normal.”  It’s also encouraging to see that the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Pennsylvania and the United States is declining. Still, we do need to remain vigilant a while longer.  Please continue to follow our guidance on conducting unit meetings and activities.

Yours in Scouting,

Ronald M. Gardner, Jr.
Scout Executive & CEO
