Light of Scouting Challenge

Show us what it means to be a Scout, what Scouts do, or what you think of when you hear “Scouting!”

The Heritage Trails District challenges all Scouts to compete in our Light of Scouting Challenge, where Scouts are challenged to create an outdoor light display that represents what being a Scout is all about. Scouts are encouraged to turn this into a family acitivity.

What do you have to do?
        1. Create an amazing display.
        2. Parents/units, capture the display and share it on your social media channels.
        3. Submit your display entry.
        4. Vote for your favorite display.
Here are a few guidelines:
        • The challenge will take place from now until December 15, 2022.
        • Scouts should be sure to get help from a parent or another adult.
        • All entries should be submitted by December 15, 2022.
        • Only one entry is permitted per display.
        • All entries will be posted to the Heritage Trails District Facebook page on December 19 and will be open until December 21 for voting. Our winner will be announced on December 23.
Contest Rules
      • No Purchase Necessary – Purchase does not enhance chance of winning. Odds of winning are determined by number of submissions. Void where prohibited. This contest is hosted by the Heritage Trails District.
      • Entries will only be accepted via this entry form. Entries must be submitted by December 15, 2022 at 11:59 PM. Entries must include a photo (acceptable formats: JPEG, PNG, or PDF) and all required form details. Late entries will not be accepted.
      • Eligibility requirements – The Scout must be a registered member of Heritage Trails District at time of entry.
      • All entries will be posted to the Heritage Trails District Facebook page on December 19 and will be open until December 21 for voting. One overall winner will be announced on December 23. One prize of a $25 Scout Shop gift card will be awarded to the overall winner. The prize for the overall winner will be distributed after January 1, 2023.
      • By submitting entry into the contest, Entrant agrees that they and/or their parent or guardian have sole rights to the photograph(s) submitted. As such, participant and/or their parent or guardian release the rights to photograph(s) submitted to Heritage Trails District. By submitting entry into the contest, Entrants agree to have their name and/or scout details published in digital or print in conjunction with the contest or future contests.
