Brian K. Alpaugh – 2021 Silver Beaver Award Honoree

After becoming an Eagle Scout in 1982, Brian Alpaugh has spent much of his adult life “giving back” to Scouting.

Brian currently serves as District Commissioner for the Heritage Trails District, which he has held since 2015. Before becoming District Commissioner, Brian was a unit commissioner (2010-19) and an Assistant District Commissioner (2013-16).

For his outstanding work as a commissioner, Brian received the Commissioner’s Key (2010), Arrowhead Honor (2011), and the Commissioner Award of Excellence in Unit Service (2013). For his dedicated service to Scouting, Brian received the District Award of Merit in 2013.

Brian began his adult volunteer service to Scouting as a committee member in Pack 158 in Dover before moving to Pack 94, where he served as a Tiger Cub Den Leader, Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, and Pack Committee Chair. He also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Committee Member in Troop 94.

Brian also took on the role of the Order of the Arrow District Lodge Advisor from 2006-09 for the Susquehanna Trail District.

Brian has also earned numerous other Scouting awards, including the District Committee Key (2016), Boy Scout Leader Training Award (2010), Cub Scouter Award (2013), Den Leader Award (2010), and Webelos Den Leader Award (2010). Brian also completed his Powder Horn training in 2011 and Wood Badge training in 2012.
