Tickets must be purchased in advance of the event.

The Blue & Gold Dinner event is a dinner, awards ceremony and a whole lot more! Troop 19 & Troop 23 will have information about their local Boy Scout Troops, so you can have your Scout join when they are in 6th grade! There will also be a table with items from the Scout Store that you can purchase for your son’s uniform and other goodies!

This is the biggest and most important event of the year – you don’t want to miss it!
Please keep an eye out for the invitation which your Scout will be bringing home from program. RSVP’s and money are due no later than March 19th!

Fishing Derby

You may have seen postings that the York City Fishing Derby was being held on April 7th. This date is incorrect!       The York City Fishing Derby at Kiwanis Lake will be held on March 31st, from 8am until noon! Make sure that when you arrive at the lake you check in with Miss Jess at the Scout Table so your Scout can get credit for attending, and work on the requirements to earn his fishing belt loop!

Mall Show

The Mall Show is this Saturday, February 4th from 10am until 4pm at the York Galleria Mall. Scouts can participate in various activites, crafts and games and even earn some requirements toward Belt Loops!
Scouts in Uniform will receive discounts at various stores in the mall. Make sure to check in at the registration table in the center court area to hear about those opportunities!
If you have a pinewood derby car and would like to race it, bring it to the Mall Show! Check in with the Derby Track to sign up for the next available race! This is a GREAT event that you do not want to miss!

And don’t forget to check out our Facebook page to view photos, talk to other Scout families, keep in touch about upcoming events and MORE! https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/York-City-Cub-Scouts/109211629150859

Spring Scouts

After our first week of Scouts in 2012 it looks like we have a LOT of stuff to look forward to! There is still time to sign up your Webelos Scout for the Klondike Derby on February 18th. The Mall Show is open to ALL Scouts on February 4th – and if you’d like to help run our York City Cub Scout Booth, you can sign up with Miss Jess.

If any of your contact information has changed since the fall, please email Miss Jess at jessica.yaden@scouting.org or ask your Scout’s Den Leader for a new permission slip to complete. It is very important that we have accurate phone numbers (and email/mailing addresses) for your Scout and family.

Cub Scouts In Action

The Cub Scout After School Program is back in action! Programs have begun this week and will continue until the end of Apil. Please note: If there is a school closing due to weather, we will not have programs.

Your Scout will be bringing home a paper copy of the calendar and all the dates that programs will meet. Please keep this somewhere visible so you know if and when your son has Cub Scouts! If you need another calendar, please email Jessica Yaden at jessica.yaden@scouting.org.

Also, don’t forget to check out the newsletter to find out about upcoming events and chances for your Scout to work on various awards! The Mall Show is February 4th  and we are still looking for volunteers to help us at our booth.

SEE YOU SOON!

Spring Programs

The York City After School Cub Scout programs will begin the week of January 23rd. Please follow up with your Scout because he will be bringing home the master calendar for all the dates we will be meeting for the remainder of the school year. Please note that if there is a half-day or early dismissal due to weather, the after school program will not meet! If you aren’t sure whether or not there will be program, feel free to call Miss Jess at 717-827-4564.

There will be lots of fun events planned for the Spring! And camping opportunities in the summer! The first event Scouts can participate in this year is the Mall Show. On Saturday, February 4th from 10am until 4pm the Mall Show will take place at the York Galleria Mall. Scouts are encouraged to attend, in uniform, to take part in a LOT of fun! Bring your pinewood derby car to race.
If you are available to help out at our booth, please call or email Miss Jess to sign up! We are looking for Scouts and parents to sign up for two hours to help run our activities, and then spend the rest of the time checking out what else the Mall Show has to offer!
Scouts who participate get a special Mall Show patch! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

2012 Klondike Derby

Does your Webelos Scout have what it takes to brave the cold and show off their Scout Skills? Troop 23 is inviting Scouts in 4th and 5th grade to attend the Klondike Derby on February 18th at Camp Tuckahoe. Webelos will have the chance to work together, and with Boy Scouts from Troop 23, on different wildnerness survival skills. The theme for this year’s Klondike Derby is Mount Everest Challenge.

If you would like to sign up your Webelos Scout to attend for the day, please call Jon Hess at 717-843-8274.
