An Eagle Scout, Justin Schneider loves camping and the outdoors, and he wants everyone else to love Scouting’s outdoor programs just as much as he does.
Justin has served on the Council’s Camping Committee since 2018, and if you’ve attended a council-wide outdoor event since then, the chances are excellent that Justin had a hand in planning it.
Justin has served as Program Chair for Rendezvous, Wizard Safari, Winterfest, Halloween Days, Fall Fest, and Spring Fling. Justin was a member of the Hidden Valley summer camp staff in 2016, and when Hidden Valley needed a head cook in 2018, Justin stepped in and filled the void.
Justin was the Council’s Order of the Arrow Lodge Chief in 2014. He would go on to serve as the Lodge’s Adviser to the Vice Chief of Service (2015-16), as well as adviser to the Lodge Treasurer (2016-19) and Secretary (2020). Josh received the OA Founders Award in 2014, the Arrowman Service Award (2015), and the OA Centurion Award (2015).
One of Justin’s former OA advisers said, “As soon as he turned 21, he served as a Lodge Adviser for youth Lodge Officer positions through 2020. (The) Council’s programs have benefitted from Justin’s tireless energy, intelligence, and leadership as he has been the Program Chair for just about every council-wide event for youth. Justin is an adult who has truly made a difference right out of the gate after transitioning from a Scout.”
